You are so right. I deal with many people who feel animals are disposable. I am one who has to hold their hands as they are euthanized-- just because their "people" don't want them anymore. I've heard every excuse and my heart sinks every time I look into the eyes of a hopeful, trusting puppy or cat.

Please, folks, stop abandoning the only real unconditional love in your lives. If you move, take your pets and commit to them as they have to you!

Thank you for such a refreshing article! In times like these we need to all Pull together and do the best we can... This is true not only for the 2 legged but the 4 legged. We live in a throw away culture, and animals should not be thrown away like garbage! Our hat off to you!

Cindy, you are so right! Any random act of kindness, whether toward human beings or the animals in our lives, will make a positive difference in our world. The boomerang concept, the ying yang, and even Jesus's golden rule...all of these teach us to do the right thing and to be a servant to others. Making a positive difference in other people's lives or in the lives of God's little creatures, will also enrich our own lives.
